Diagnostic Tech or Tech with State Inspector License
Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated ASE Automotive Technician with a State Inspector License to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, as well as conducting thorough vehicle inspections in compliance with the Virginia State Police Safety Inspection program. As an ASE-certified professional, you will utilize your expertise to perform high-quality service and repairs in accordance with manufacturer standards.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnostics and Repairs:
- Perform accurate diagnostics on vehicles to identify mechanical issues.
- Conduct necessary repairs and maintenance, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical system repairs.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot and resolve complex automotive issues.
- Preventative Maintenance:
- Execute scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and system inspections.
- Advise customers on preventative maintenance to prolong vehicle lifespan and performance.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all work performed meets manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct final inspections on serviced vehicles to confirm repairs have been completed effectively and safely.
- Customer Interaction:
- Communicate with customers to explain diagnostic findings, recommended repairs, and service options.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
- Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of all services performed, including parts used, labor hours, and vehicle conditions.
- Utilize service management software to update and track repair orders and inventory.
Qualifications:
- Certification:
- ASE Certification required (Automotive Service Excellence)
- Must have a valid Drivers License
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an automotive technician.
- Proven track record of successful diagnostics and repairs.
- Skills:
- Proficient with automotive diagnostic tools and software.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in a vehicle fume environment.
- Prolonged periods standing, bending, and working in tight spaces.
- Ability to operate and handle various hand and power tools safely.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Technical or vocational training in automotive repair preferred.
Compensation:
- Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications. Hourly pay ranges from $15 ($20 for Master/SI) to $35 (World Class/SI/Team Leader) plus/and up to an additional $40 per hour flat rate combination plan, yes hourly & flat rate combined with OT pay!!!
